Why should you use a Realtor?

Buying or selling your home can be an exhaustive and complicated process, but with the help of a real estate professional, it is easier than you think. A Realtor has many valuable resources to assist you and can be invaluable when it comes to guind you through the entire process that could otherwise be intimidating.

A key role of the Realtor is to facilitate every part of the transaction for you, whether you are a buyer or a seller. If a Realtor is representing you as a seller, the Realtor has arranged to market your property, help negotiate and identify qualified buyers on all offers, provide you with up-to-date status, and work with each of the participants involved in your transaction. If a Realtor is representing you as a buyer, then the Realtor has arranged to help you determine your buying power by helping you understand the different financing options, find a property that matched your needs, provide objective information as well as due diligence on each property, help negotiate the offer, and work with each of the participants involved in your transaction.

Whether you are a buyer or seller, your Realtor is there to guide you through the entire transaction process to closing.

  1. Working from the development point of view, we see so many people who come in that haven't purchased property through a realtor who would have benefitted. A good Realtor does their homework and knows the potential of a property: zoning, whether it's conforming or not, what the buildable enevelope is, whether or not you can add on or build a seperate garage. More times than not, those who have chosen to do it on their own wind up disappointed. I feel bad telling them "I'm sorry; but what you thought could be done with this property, can't." Maybe another post topic??

  2. Hi Phoenix and thanks for the comments! Good point and yes I think a great potential post topic :) I think for many buyers and consumers, they are not often aware that as realtors and buyer's agents, we receive our compensation from sellers. Often those not aware of this shy away from having someone represent them because they are under the impression that they must pay us for our services.
